Zelda Fireplace Art Will Warm Your Heart, But Not Your Body

Do you have a decorative fireplace? That’s the opposite of dangerous, but you still shouldn’t let it be alone. Equip it with the Zelda Fireplace Art, aka The Lazy Man’s Fireplace: set it and forget it. You don’t have to worry about it burning out or burning your house down.

Legend of Zelda Gets Enough Support for Official LEGO Consideration

As a child who grew up with an obscene amount of LEGO, the idea of combining them with my other favorite childhood indulgence, video games, seems like a match made in nerd heaven. In December 2011, a designer by the name of Michael Inglis debuted his concept design for a full Lego set based on Nintendo’s classic Legend of Zelda video game franchise, which used the ending of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as it’s basis for the design. Wonderfully creative and elaborate, this concept spread over other game sites like Kotaku and IGN and has gained a lot of support in the process. Well, there is news now that LEGO is actually considering this proposition.

Zelda-themed live wallpaper is cooler than the Master Sword

Generations of gamers have come to know and love Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series, and the latest entry on the Wii is no exception. But The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has inspired more than the usual fanart: developer Abusive Studios has released a sweet live wallpaper modeled after the Gate of Time. If you’re a Zelda fan you’ll no doubt enjoy it, but the wallpaper is so well done that even those who have never hurled a boomerang will find enough to like. Download it now in the Google Play Store.

IGN’s choice for the best SNES game of all time may be getting a sequel. Here’s why the game rocks, and what elements we hope to see return.

Late last year, we here at IGN compiled our list of the top 100 SNES games – a retrospective of sorts on the system’s best software. In the midst of some fierce competition, against a selection of titles that represent some of the best gaming has to offer (Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger and Super Mario World, to name just a handful), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past managed to take our pick for the number one game of what many consider to be the number one system of all time.

Would You Play Mario and Zelda On the Xbox?

Last week, I ruffled the feathers of some Nintendo fans who took issue with my contention that the company will no longer chart gaming’s future. As popular as the game company appears to be, it’s losing ground to Microsoft and Sony. And as time goes on and it consistently fails to deliver next-generation ideas, it’ll only continue to lose ground.

LEGO CUUSOO is a program by the LEGO company by which, if an idea for a LEGO product reaches 10,000 supporters, it gets reviewed and a shot at actually being made. Recently, the designer of a pitch on CUUSOO for LEGO accessories based on The Legend of Zelda series got in touch with us to ask if we’d give his idea a little exposure. ‘Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ world recreated in top-down 2D

Recreations of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are nothing new — devoted fans of the game made this impressive to-scale Minecraft version of the game just recently — but how about a pixel-by-pixel work of art that turns the 3D title into a 2D map? That’s precisely what Zelda Game Fan Central user MaJoRa has been working on since June 2010: a Zelda: A Link to the Past-styled map of Ocarina of Time. The entire outdoor world of the iconic title has been recreated solely in Microsoft Paint, according to MaJoRa. You can see the whole map below, but be sure to check the source link with the full-sized versions of each location to see all of the work done to bring the Nintendo 64classic from 3D to top-down 2D.
